then and now i am lucky to find a new artist to listen to. this time it is a girl called sara groves. a colleague of mine did a review of her latest album, fireflies and songs, over at melodic.net and i thought i would check it out. glad i did.
we are talking about folk pop music not far from sarah mclachlan. piano-based songs. it also has the same kind of sounds a peter bradley adams has, very nice and mellow in other words. sounds even better at night. go check her out, you will not be sorry.
for those of you with spotify you can listen to the album at:

i’m not a huge fan of christmas music. i grow tired of them quickly. worst is when contemporary artists make their own “catchy” christmas songs that in 99% of the cases end up sounding like crap. but anyways, thanks to daniel over at la cienega there might be hope this christmas. he started an “alternative christmas songs” list on spotify. if you’re into folk christmas songs, be sure to check it out. you are even invited to add songs to the list. all you need is spotify.
anyways, here’s the list:
alternative x-mas songs
